After being reduced to somewhat of a secondary story as of late, The Flash season 5 episode 6 is going to bring Caitlin’s father to the forefront. She’s been eager to uncover the truth as of late and there are many different variables that are in play. Take, for example, why in the world there was the fake death certificate; the same goes for getting a chance to understand better why she has powers and origins of those. Dr. Thomas Snow may have some answers, though finding him is a pretty big challenge.

Yet, the good news is that this character will be appearing within this episode entitled ‘The Icicle Cometh” — which could end up being a reference to his character. After all, there is a DC Comics figure named Icicle. Why not explore this a little bit further? The thing that Caitlin has to realize here is that nothing is precisely as it seems with this guy. He took off for a reason and he probably never wanted to be found. Caitlin cannot get her hopes up about this guy, given that he almost isn’t sure to be the warm and fuzzy type. She does probably have a good bit of experience dealing with this thanks to her mother.
Below, CarterMatt has the full The Flash season 5 episode 6 synopsis with some other information on what’s ahead:
CAITLIN LEARNS SOMETHING NEW ABOUT HER FATHER – Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) learn something new about Caitlin’s father (guest star Kyle Secor). Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) and Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) follow a clue about Cicada (Chris Klein). Chris Peppe directed the episode written by Kristen Kim & Joshua V. Gilbert (#506). Original airdate 11/20/2018.
The search for Cicada is still very much a part of this story, and it is with that in mind, you don’t have to worry about him falling out of the spotlight completely. Having Iris and Sherloque work together could actually be really fun here, mostly due to the fact that they approach finding information in research in really different ways. While Iris may not be an investigator per se, there are a lot of benefits that come with having a journalist around. She could use the public in order to aid their search, provided that this is something to be called upon. Time will tell here, but at least there are some interesting possibilities.
