Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 8 video: The Strike Force cometh

David vs. Goliath

On tomorrow night’s Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 8, there are many big decisions that need to be made. Some of the biggest ones impact an alliance that, at least so far, has floated somewhat under the radar. We’re talking here about the Strike Force, which is the group that includes Christian, Alec, Gabby, Nick, Mike, and Alison. You’ve got three David tribe members and three Goliaths in that mix, and it’s a chance to completely upend the game if they make a move at the right time.

To go along with our personal video, we’ve also got a sneak peek below worth checking out — that is the major focus of this article. In this Mike and Christian have a conversation that helps to lay the groundwork for what could be coming up next. Christian is seemingly ready to make a move with this new alliance, especially now that Angelina has basically lost a ton of her power. She’s been exposed as a shifty player by the now-departed Elizabeth (read our exit interview for her here) and could be a really easy vote.

If we’re someone like Mike, our thinking would be this: Try to keep the Strike Force masked for as long as possible. If you can get rid of Angelina while making it seem like a consensus, you do that. Yet, if the other members of Goliath are still insistent on targeting a David, maybe you have to think about things … unless their target is Christian. Given that Angelina wants Christian out it’s conceivable that the Strike Force will have to choose tonight between their cross-tribal alliance and their original tribe, and that could prove complicated given the ramifications.

What we would probably do is this: Blindside Dan. All the Strike Force needs is another vote from an original David and you have to think Carl / Davie would be game to do it. Everyone knows that Dan has an idol (he actually has two), but if there’s no reason for him to think he’s leaving, he may not play them yet. This is a chance to eliminate the biggest threat. Angelina will be there next week, and she doesn’t have an idol and isn’t anywhere near the competition threat based on what we’ve seen so far. You have to be smart and crafty if you want to win this game, and getting rid of Dan here sets up the Strike Force to really run things down to the final six, unless of course Davie tries something crazy at some point with his own idol.
