Dancing with the Stars 27 results: Was Grocery Store Joe eliminated?

Tonight, Dancing with the Stars 27 delivered yet another elimination … and this could’ve been the one to change things. We don’t mean to hate on Grocery Store Joe by any means, but he has been the guy so far this season who has made it far based mostly on his likability alone. He’s not a good dancer, but dancing isn’t the only part of this show. The results make that clear. It’s about the journey and seeing someone evolve and embrace some of the various ins and outs of the competition.

So could someone else actually go home other than Joe? That’s something that we couldn’t figure out going into the series given that there were so many far-superior people left … and we already lost John Schneider. It never felt like he was going to be the guy who won the Mirrorball in the end.

Now, let’s go ahead and get to the results at the very end of the episode — after all, there were TWO different stars who went home.

Grocery Store Joe – This was the elimination everyone saw coming. His time on the show was memorable, but he also just didn’t have the skill to keep going forever. He’s probably as relieved as anyone on some level that the journey is over, largely because he because the subject of a lot of jokes over the past few weeks.

Juan Pablo di Pace – Seriously?! One of the best dancers on the show this season is gone … and Bobby Bones is still there. Bobby seems to now be the contestant who everyone is going to be shocked at for sticking around as long as they have. We did think that the Fuller House star was going to be the winner pre-season, so this is the time where we eat some crow and also question just how in the world this happened. He had great scores and it felt like he also had plenty of fans. Suffice it to say, this elimination is one of the most shocking ones that we’ve seen. Not Heather Morris level shocking, but we’d put it up there. It’s too bad there is no mulligan that can be handed down to America after all of this.
