Is 911 new tonight on Fox? What’s ahead on season 2

911 season 2

Is 911 new tonight on Fox? The series has had a nice run for itself over the past month and a half, whether it be premiering after NFL football or staging a number of big, intense event episodes along the way. It’s just about as high-octane show as they come, and the ratings have absolutely validated the network’s commitment to the series. It and Empire have become two of the network’s biggest hits and they can rely on them through thick and thin.

Unfortunately, there are not going to be any other updates on the show tonight because it’s not on the air. Fox has decided to put their Monday lineup in repeats in order to preserve some episodes for a little bit longer. This is the first Monday of the fall where there is no 911 and we have to come to terms with what we’re going to watch instead!

When the series does return on November 19… – It’s going to be very much worth the wait! The first episode back, entitled “Hen Begins,” is going to be one of the best origin-story episodes that we’ve had a chance to see. This will offer you up a great opportunity to learn more about this character’s backstory, including (hopefully) what motivates her as one of the best firefighters the city has ever seen. We have loved Aisha Hinds’ performance this season – she has really been stealing the show for us!

Beyond this episode – There is one more thing worth noting here, and that is the fall finale that is airing on November 26 entitled “Merry Ex-Mas.” One of the main reasons why 911 is not on the air tonight seems to be to make it so that this holiday episode comes on the air after Thanksgiving. It’s still kinda early for a Christmas episode, but not that early when you think about it. There’s going to be a long hiatus after this episode until the spring; to help tide you over, take a look at the official synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

The holidays are naughty and nice for the first responders, who must deal with a stampede at a toy store, a mistletoe stunt gone awry and neighbors competing in a Christmas-light showdown. Meanwhile, Bobby contemplates his future with Athena, Chimney and Buck attempt to lift Maddie’s spirits and Eddie must decide if he wants to give his son what he really wants for Christmas – a visit with his mom – in the all-new “Merry Ex-Mas” fall finale episode of 9-1-1 airing Monday, Nov. 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (NIN-210) (TV-14 D, L, V)

Clearly, there’s a lot of stuff that’s worth watching in here! Of course, one of the accidents was going to involve Christmas Lights, mostly because there are so many people out there who tend to get super-competitive over this. Given that it is the holidays, expect some moments that are sweet and sentimental … even a show about first responders should allow their characters a chance to eat, drink, and be merry.
