This Thursday’s episode of Law & Order: SVU is poised to be one of the most significant one of the entire series so far. It’s hard for it not be given the subject matter. A woman from Peter Stone’s past is accusing him of sexual assault and with that, the character ends up having to bring his own case to trial. This is a case that could lead to vast changes when it comes to the lead prosecutor on the show, depending of course on how this case is resolved. This is a spot where Stone’s career is very much on the line and every character is going to have to process and take stock in what is going on around them.

If you saw the promo for this episode already, then you know a thing or two about what’s coming. What we have to offer you now are a few more details when it comes to guest stars. The Walking Dead and This Is Us alum Alexandra Breckenridge is going to be one of the episode’s biggest guest stars. She may be playing the accuser in this particular case. Meanwhile, Eddie Hargitay (Mariska Hargitay’s cousin) is returning for another appearance as well. Mariska is directing this installment, which does add potentially even more weight to it than what was already there to begin with since any time we have her behind the camera you know that it’s going to be a great episode!

The official SVU season 20 episode 9 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below helps to give you more details on what’s to come and reminds you that we’re going to see Rollins’ story continue to get attention thanks to Dr. Al Pollack making another appearance:

11/15/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Thursday) : Stone (Philip Winchester) takes his own case to trial when a woman from his past accuses him of sexual assault. Also starring Mariska Hargitay, Ice T, Kelli Giddish and Peter Scanavino. Guest starring George Newbern (Dr. Al Pollack), Eddie Hargitay (Eddie Montero) and Alexandra Breckenridge (Sarah Kent). Directed by Mariska Hargitay.

This entire case was seemingly foreshadowed at the end of this past episode, where Stone was warned that someone could come forward and accuse him. We don’t want to be cynical and presume that this was linked in any way. This case has to be taken seriously, and we have to approach it with the notion that we really don’t know Stone all that well, especially the earlier part of his life where this accusation could be coming from. We really got to know him first over on Chicago Justice, but he was only over there for one season before eventually transitioning over here and replacing Barba in New York with SVU. There are many gaps in his life that need to be filled in and questions that need to be answered. This episode is a chance to fully take on some of those a let us dive deeper into who this man really is.
