Dancing with the Stars: Juniors: Jason Maybaum eliminated in week 5
At the end of this episode, Raven’s Home actor Jason Maybaum, someone with a ton of enthusiasm and a great personality, ended up being the sixth person to go home. Was he the best dancer in the competition? We aren’t going to go so far as to say that. Yet, at the same time he brought something that is absolutely important to stardom: Charisma. He had serious swagger and a sense of humor; he brought value to this competition that is still in its infancy.
Think back to when Dancing with the Stars: Juniors was first announced. What you had to want at that point was simply a number of fun, energetic performers who put their all in the routines. Nobody expected the kids to be anywhere near as good as the adults. As a matter of fact, it would be wrong to even insinuate that they would be. What we were getting here instead is a sense of childlike wonder and enthusiasm that we actually don’t get on the main show. These are people who haven’t had anywhere near as much of a chance to be jaded by the system.
For Maybaum, the good news is that he probably found himself some new fans from being on the show and through this, he can take his career to new heights down the road. It was a chance for viewers to know the real him as opposed to a character he plays in a comedy. No one show sticks around forever, so sometimes appearing on something like this can help years down the road in ways that you do not expect. There are certainly many different times that we’ve said that when it comes to the flagship Dancing with the Stars series over the years; while not every person on it has went on to have this fantastic career, many of them have been able to land some interesting acting and hosting gigs. Heck, Erin Andrews was a former contestant and she’s a co-host of the show now!
There are only a handful of contestants left on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, and moving into next week we’ll have an even better chance to see who the real winner contenders are. We’re anticipating some excitement, but beyond just that creativity. We want this show to embrace the challenge of really putting out some routines we haven’t had all that much of an opportunity to see in the past.
