People’s Choice Awards 2018: TV winners list (live updates!)
We should also note here that because we’re doing this article as the show progresses, the results may be ever-changing. We suggest that you come back and refresh the page throughout for some more specific insight on all of the different winners from start to finish.
What are we hoping for? It’d be nice to see some wins for some of the shows we cover the most here at CarterMatt, including the likes of Shadowhunters, Outlander, and Law & Order: SVU. We’ll see, though, if that happens — given that it’s been so long since the PCAs have been on the air, there is an air of unpredictability in the mix.
Late Night Talk Show – The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Should’ve seen this coming when Jimmy showed up in attendance at the show.
Female TV Star – Katherine McNamara, Shadowhunters. Hooray! For a series that doesn’t have a home after season 3, it’s very much nice to see fans coming through and fighting to try to get this show a little bit more love. If nothing else, it makes Freeform look even sillier for canceling it.
Male TV Star – Harry Shum Jr., Shadowhunters. Another hooray! Harry deserves this, and given the happy news going on in his personal life, this is really the icing on the cake today.
Sci-Fi / Fantasy Show – Wynonna Earp. The Earpers have a win! With the, it seems as though there’s a lot of love being spread around to different fandoms.
Reality Star – Khloe Kardashian won an award on her own channel?! We do think that she got the votes (no conspiracy theory), but color us SHOCKED.
Show of 2018 – Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments. They did THAT. The biggest TV win of the night goes to the little show that could.
Competition Show – The Voice. Given that Blake Shelton won tonight in music, no shocker there.
Revival Show – Dynasty. Really? With the ratings it’s getting, we cannot say that we saw this coming by any stretch of the imagination.
Drama TV Star – Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: SVU. The best part of this was her speech, where she claimed that she was in season 79 of the NBC hit.
Drama Series – Riverdale. No shock here given the passion of the show’s fandom.
Comedy Series – Orange is the New Black. We’re still on the fence about this being a comedy.
Comedy Star – Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory. Easy to call. The biggest name on the biggest comedy.
Daytime Show – The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Was there any other choice?
Bingeworthy Show – Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments. Basically, if Shadowhunters was nominated for something, it won with the exception of one category. What an incredible night for the show.
