The People’s Choice Awards are happening tonight in Los Angeles, and for those interested in a live stream of the red carpet, CarterMatt comes bearing some good news!
If you look at the tweet below via E!, you can see a link that will bring you to all of the red-carpet action when it comes to the awards show. There’s a lot that is going to be happening tonight in between big stars, a wide array of awards, and hopefully some memorable moments. This is basically the best way to get hyped leading up to it. You’ll get to see some of your favorite stars, hopefully talking about many of their favorite moments leading up to the festivities tonight. We’re focusing mostly on the TV side of things tonight (we are a television site after all), but some of our predictions for the show suggest that Shadowhunters, Riverdale, and Outlander are going to take home all of the individual trophies over the course of the night.
The stream should help to lead you up to the start of the show, but remember that there is no officially-sanctioned stream for the actual PCAs themselves. Is it possible that you may be able to find an unauthorized stream somewhere? We don’t vouch for any of it since some of them are found in some dark corners of the internet.
The PCAs proper will begin on E! tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. This is the first time in which the show has been broadcast on the network after many years over on CBS. Will the move over to this network lead to a smaller audience? It’s absolutely possible that it will, given that there’s just not the same sort of roll-out for it on this network. If there is one benefit to it though, it is that airing in November at least allows the show an opportunity to avoid some of the larger competition elsewhere in January (which is when the PCAs used to air). It’s not in the thick of awards season anymore … though to be devil’s advocate, there are many other challenges that come with airing the show tonight. For starters, it is coming on the air opposite the NFL, new episodes of scripted shows, and also popular cable shows like Outlander and The Walking Dead. Given that these shows actually have nominations at the PCAs, that’s problematic.
In the end, time will tell what the ratings will pan out to be with the PCAs at a new home. It is a pretty dramatic re-brand now with much of the energy being focused on E! now. That may be beneficial for some cable shows that didn’t get as much attention on CBS.
