Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 8: Five players to watch!

Survivor: David vs. Goliath

Moving into Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 8, who should we be watching out for? Who could be voted out next, or who is the biggest threat to win? We’re back with another weekend edition of five players to watch and there are many interesting discussions to be had here. We’ll be taking a close look at five different people here who are going to be big movers and shakers; in the end, maybe we’ll figure out who the next boot is going to be (though rest assured, no spoilers ahead).

Dan – It just makes some logical sense for him to be a target at this point just because so many people have spoken about it. Meanwhile, he also knows that people are targeting him. That’s so critical because he has those two immunity idols and he can easily burn one of them if he is the slightest bit nervous about his fate. He’s important in this episode for two different ways: He could be blindsided with two idols, or he’s an interesting candidate to play one and get rid of someone running some sort of resistance against him in the game.

Angelina – It’s hard not to include her here after a disastrous showing in the last Tribal Council where she was revealed to be playing hard for jury votes. She’s going to have to re-center herself and find another way to move forward / earn the trust of those who are playing around her. Even if she doesn’t do that, though, there is a chance that she’s so paranoid and over-aggressive that eventually, maybe she’s a candidate to take to the end of the game.

Christian – His name came up in this past episode, and we’re not altogether sure that he is privy to just how much Angelina wanted him gone. That does leave him a little bit vulnerable, even if he does have an interesting alliance-of-sorts with Nick, Mike, Alec, Gabby, and Alison who could all team up and start making a move at this particular point in the game. Christian does also have to worry about potentially upsetting John and Dan with whatever he does, given that he has formulated some sort of a bond there.

Alec – All of a sudden, the surfer dude is playing a really interesting move. Despite getting rid of Natalia he seems to have at least a reasonable amount of trust with the Goliaths; yet, he also has some bonds with a number of people in the David group. He’s an interesting cat in that he could flip the entire game around or keep things the way that it is. The problem is that his execution has been so poor that he may never get credit for it.

Gabby – This is where we continue to see her as the most dangerous person in the game, largely because we foresee some of the Goliaths perceiving her being emotional as a sign of weakness, even if that is not actually the case. She’s really the ultimately underdog here — she’s still very smart, though, and may be able to pivot and move around enough to keep her in the game. That’s especially true since she’s not going to be considered a threat for a few weeks.
