Is James MacKay returning to Dynasty season 2 down the road?
Yet, there may actually be a little bit more going on here than was first apparent. According to a new report coming in via Deadline, MacKay will be returning at some point down the road this season, but with a surprise twist at the center of it. If we were to say precisely what the twist was right now, wouldn’t that completely ruin the purpose of said twist? It’s supposed to catch you off-guard and have you talking a little bit about it! Hopefully, nobody announces precisely when this is coming and with that, we get a chance to really dive in and relish it when it happens.
Also, at the moment Dynasty is a series that really needs to trade on a currency of surprises since it is not getting a whole lot of attention any other way. Its ratings in America are far from stupendous and it seems to be sticking around mostly because of a good international model for the series — and also because it is a CBS TV series on The CW, who likes to have a balance of these shows mixed with ones from Warner Bros. TV. The odds of a third season are hard to really ascertain, mostly because of the way in which the network gave it a full season last year and renewed it, even when the ratings weren’t altogether great then, either. (Last night, Dynasty delivered a 0.2 rating — hardly something to be psyched about, but at least it is not falling further.)
While you wait for some more news about the potential return of MacKay down the road, why not go ahead and see what’s coming on Friday night? Take a look at the synopsis below for a few more details all about what’s coming:
LIONS, AND TIGERS, AND MOTHERS-IN-LAW, OH MY! – Hoping to put Liam (guest star Adam Huber) in the rear-view, Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) fights to prove to Culhane’s (Robert Christopher Riley) family, and to herself, that Culhane is her one and only. Blake (Grant Show) and Cristal (Ana Brenda Contreras) struggle to keep their courtship alive as a paranoid Alexis (Nicollette Sheridan) derails their holiday plans. Maddison Brown, Alan Dale, Rafael de la Fuente, Sam Adegoke and James Mackay also star. Josh Reims and Libby Wells wrote the episode, which was directed by Tessa Blake (#206).
