Mayans MC finale spoilers: Is a big Sons of Anarchy connection coming

Mayans MC

When the Mayans MC finale arrives on FX in one day’s time, you’re going to see the Sons of Anarchy world expanded. How much so? Well, let’s just say that there could be even more of a tie-in between these two worlds than ever before.

Speaking in a new interview with the IMDb Show, executive producer Kurt Sutter noted the following when it comes to this big episode:

“I would say that in the finale there is a significant Sons intersection … That’s all I’m going to give you — an intersection between mythologies.”

It definitely feels like we’ve seen quite a bit of connectivity between these shows already, whether it be the presence of Chucky or also Lincoln Potter, who over time has become more and more of a force to be reckoned with inside this world. He seems to be set up to make both EZ and Angel miserable in the finale … unless of course he has his way. (It feels official to say that this character is the worst right now.)

Do we think that Mayans MC really a lot of connections to the flagship series? Not necessarily, but if things work out creatively, there’s no reason other than to go for it. The original was so successful and, if nothing else, it does make sense to try and court more viewers to the new show who loved the original. Mayans MC has done very well for itself — after all, it did get a renewal for season 2, but by no means does it have the audience of the original show. It still has a little ways to go in order to get to precisely where it needs in order to be the runaway smash hit it could inevitably be.

Tomorrow, we’ll have a chance to see precisely how everything shakes down — check back soon for more coverage from that episode.
