Alas, the Matt Czuchry – Emily VanCamp medical drama is not going to be coming on the air next week. What’s the reasoning for that? As of right now, it simply just seems like Fox wants to preserve some of their episodes for down the line. Repeats are currently listed on the schedule for next week, and we get it. Even though Fox does have a full-season order of 22 episodes, they don’t want to air so many episodes now that they don’t have anything else to put on the air for the spring. They want to pace themselves.
Luckily, when The Resident season 2 episode 8 does end up airing come Monday, November 19, all signs suggest that it will be worth it. After all, this episode will feature the return of the infamous Dr. Lane Hunter, who was arrested at the end of this past season. Meanwhile, Mina and Austin’s relationship could actually start to develop into something more than what it is — which has definitely been contentious so far.

Conrad goes head-to-head with Bell after he recommends one of Julian’s (guest star Jenna Dewan) risky medical devices to Zoey (guest star Daniella Alonso), who’s already lost one son and is back in the hospital with the other. Nic fears that Conrad may be getting overly attached to his patient. Meanwhile, Mina and Austin grow closer while working on a difficult heart transplant, Devon embarks on a very difficult day and Dr. Lane Hunter (guest star Melina Kanakaredes) returns in the all-new “Heart in a Box” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, Nov. 19 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
