God Friended Me episode 7 preview: Cara’s father pays a visit

Next week’s God Friended Me episode 7 seems to be, in part, about family — especially in terms of some of the people who are front and center.

For Miles, he is going to be forced to take on some difficult realities in regards to his family — for most of the season, the God account hasn’t taken an interest in people close to him, but that is changing with Uncle Terrance. He’s going to have to confront something here that could lead to some difficult conversations.

For Cara, meanwhile, she’ll be seeing her father stop by — and that’s going to lead to some very interesting conversations in its own way.

Below, CarterMatt has the God Friended Me episode 7 synopsis with some other information now all about what you can expect:

“The Prodigal Son” – Miles is forced to face uncomfortable truths about his family when the God Account points him toward his Uncle Terrance (Malik Yoba). Also, Cara’s father (Michael Vartan) pays her a visit, and he discovers that she’s reconnected with her mom who left them when she was a child, on GOD FRIENDED ME, Sunday, Nov. 11 (8:30-9:30 PM, ET/8:00-9:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The Cara storyline is fascinating just because it dives back into something that was so important back in the pilot — Violett Beane’s character finding her mother. Her dad may be on some level happy that she’s getting some answers, but also definitely still concerned over the fact that she could hurt her again. As a father, it’s his job in part to look after her and ensure that nobody takes advantage of her. We have to imagine that this is going to be a huge part of this upcoming episode in one way or another.

We’re getting near the holiday season, and while we don’t have any real scoop on it just yet, we do hope that God Friended Me delivers something special for a Christmas episode! This is random, but it just seems like this is a series really primed to deliver on some of that.
