Let’s start off here with the act who was sent home from the series immediately: United Vibe. Of course, the irony here is that right when they were starting to get a little bit better, that is when they were shown the door. We still do think that they were the right act to go at this time, but we know that they did amass somewhat of a following during their time on this show. They didn’t get to participate in the sing-off and now, we move forward.
Acacia and Aaliyah faced off against Molly Scott in the sing-off, and we gotta say that we found both of these artists to be disappointing inclusions. In the case of the former, you are talking about two of the more original performers in the series; meanwhile, Molly had a lot of potential still and could prove be to be a good pop singer after the show. She at least had a good sense of her voice, which is something different from what we can say about a few other people in the season — though we do think that her song choice of “Only Human” at the end of the sing-off was a little bit predictable and sad.
If we had to choose between the two, we’d keep Acacia and Aaliyah in the competition because they offer something a little bit new. Apparently, the judges agreed since Molly is going home. We feel for her, but also cannot say that we’re altogether shocked given that we think they know at this point the acts who have a little more potential after the show.
