When are you watching the Outlander season 4 premiere?

This time around, what we are mostly interested in figuring out is simply this: How are you watching the episode? Not only that, but when are you watching it? Let’s just go through the ways in which Starz has made this first episode readily available to as many people as possible.
The actual air time – For people who watch traditional TV, the first episode is going to come on Starz at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time Sunday. There will be contingent of viewers who do choose to check it out this way, mostly because they like their TV to be at roughly the same exact time every week. It’s hard to blame them for that.
On the app – Here, the premiere is available at midnight Eastern time, and with that, viewers from all over the country can start to watch it. We certainly think that there are going to be some night owls that are going to be up late checking it out!
Via a streaming service – Maybe you’ve got Starz via Hulu, for example, and you will check it out that way.
On DVR – There are plenty of people who catch up on the series throughout the week; typically, the DVR / repeat ratings topple easily those for the traditional television premiere.
So why are we curious about this? Much of it has to do with analyzing the viewing habits of diehard fans, and beyond just that we also do want to see the importance of the linear live+same-day ratings to the overall success of the series. We’re going to be reporting on these regardless, but we do like to really get a good sense as to who is watching and when. As a matter of fact, we imagine that many out there will have already watched the premiere multiple times by the end of the day tomorrow — we salute these people.
