The Walking Dead season 9 episode 5 video: Maggie, Michonne battle over Negan

In the new sneak peek below via AMC, you can see Lauren Cohan and Danai Gurira’s characters going toe-to-toe in regards to one simple subject: Negan. As it has been documented on the series already, Maggie is intent on doing everything that she can to get revenge for what happened to Glenn. Her behavior is, at least in her mind, justified given that she just wants to ensure that the great love of her life didn’t die in vain.
Yet, is killing Negan going to make her feel any better? We have a really difficult time believing that. We just think that it will help to keep her from thinking about him still being alive out there; it doesn’t erase the fact that he is still gone. Yet, the thing that we wonder about here mostly is what is going to happen in order to drive Maggie away and off from the show. This character is only going to be a part of The Walking Dead for so much longer on a full-time basis, given that Cohan has Whiskey Cavalier. Given her leadership position in the Hilltop, is the series suddenly going to make it after a while that we don’t see this character all that much? That’s one possibility, with another being that Maggie ends up leaving all of these communities or finds herself locked away where we just don’t see her for a while.
No matter the outcome of Cohan’s time on the show, one thing remains clear: Maggie wants revenge. Beyond that, she is willing to do virtually anything and everything that she possibly can in order to ensure that she gets it.
