Blue Bloods season 9 episode 8 spoilers: Erin and Frank square off

Blue Bloods season 9

For those of you who love great showdowns between members of the Reagan family, Blue Bloods season 9 episode 8 could be your hour! In one corner, you’ve got Frank Reagan; meanwhile, Erin’s in the other. At the center of the dispute is legislation, and this is the sort of thing that probably happens in real life all of the time between prosecutors and police commissioners. It’s just a little more complicated when the two are related, and we certainly know already that Blue Bloods loves to make things complicated.

For a few more details, including what Danny and Jamie are going to be up to in this episode, check out the full Blue Bloods season 9 episode 8 synopsis below:

“Stirring the Pot” – Erin and Frank clash over new legislation from the district attorney’s office that undermines Frank’s policies. Also, Erin is at odds with Governor Mendez (David Zayas) over questionable sex-trafficking laws; Danny risks his badge to protect a friend from losing his; and an accident on the job forces Jamie to question whether he’s ready to be a sergeant, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Nov. 16 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

One thing that seems to be rather interesting about this season is that it feels like David Zayas has replaced Lorraine Bracco and David Ramsey in the role of government official who clashes with the Reagans. Maybe we’ll see an actual Mayor surface again by the end of the season, but for now it seems like the series is fine looking at things in terms of state politics. (Granted, we do wonder by the time this episode airs if everyone will be exhausted from the midterms — after all, midterms are right around the corner!)

All in all, we’re down for a Bridget Moynahan – Tom Selleck showcase. It’s high time that Erin gets what seems to be more of the A-story in a given episode.
