Why is there so much urgency behind finding? Well, at the moment that feels obvious — Mosley kills a cartel member at the start of the episode, and in the aftermath of that goes into the wind. She doesn’t want to be found and with that, she may do just about everything that she can to stay under wraps and keep people from finding her.
Here’s where things get rather difficult — there are a number of different people at play within this episode, and that includes multiple different people with cartel ties — including a prominent businesswoman who may actually more dangerous than some of the obvious people with ties to drug money. Maybe Mosley cuts a deal to ensure that she is spared from one of the cartels’ ire, but in a sense, this could just be making a deal with the devil.
What you need to know in the end here is simply this: Mosley is going to be desperate, just as almost anyone would be in her position. She wants to preserve her job and, at this point, also her life. We’re not sure that she exits this episode with both, especially when you think about everything that she’s gone through and some of the people higher up on the NCIS food chain that she’s angered. Even if Deeks, Kensi, Sam, and Callen may not be too fond of all of Mosley’s actions, they do understand what their duty is. They aren’t going to put up a fuss in trying to find her, even if she’s made their lives very difficult for most of the past year.
