Blue Bloods season 9: Where is Jack Reagan, and is he coming back?
If you see the character missing in action throughout this episode, the simple answer for him not being around is this: The character is now off at college. Tony Terraciano’s character departed for school at the end of this past episode, and is seemingly now moving forward into what is the next phase of his life. It’s probably going to be a rough transition for Danny, but one that is a natural part of life.
As for whether or not we are going to see Jack again in the future, it seems likely that we will — after all, kids do come home from college at one point or another. Seeing Jack again seems like the sort of thing that could happen around the holidays, but the one thing that may make a number of future appearances difficult is simply this: Typically Blue Bloods isn’t really on the air at the same time in which people come home from college. Think after the second week in December or over the summer. If the show does continue to move along in a pattern similar to real-time, it may make it somewhat difficult to have Jack back at the family dinner table.
Yet, let’s make it abundantly clear that so long as Tony wants to come back at this character, it should be allowed to happen. He’s a hugely-important part of the Blue Bloods family, just like every other person is who has appeared on the series at some point over the years.
