Blue Bloods season 9: See Donnie Wahlberg’s Halloween message from set

While yesterday may have been Halloween, there wasn’t much of a break for the cast and crew of Blue Bloods. Everyone is still hard at work trying to make season 9 as strong as possible, and that includes none other than series star Donnie Wahlberg.

In the new video (via Instagram), you can see Wahlberg do his best to issue a fun Halloween greeting, even while the rest of the crew behind him is just chilling out. Donnie tends to shoot a lot out in the elements on this show, which is in contrast with some of the series’ other cast members. While Will Estes and Vanessa Ray often join him outdoors (and the same goes for Marisa Ramirez, who plays Donnie’s on-screen partner Baez), many other cast members tend to spend more time working behind the scenes on sound-stages. There aren’t too many occasions in which Frank needs to head outside of the office to an outdoor locale, and the same goes for Erin. Many of the other Reagan family characters, including Nicky and Henry, often appear only in the family-dinner scenes.

Blue Bloods season 9 is going to continue airing new episodes on CBS Friday nights, and it absolutely does feel like there’s a lot of great stuff ahead for Donnie! In particular, later this month should bring you one of the most important stories from him since the premiere; we don’t want to say too much about it, save of course to prepare yourself for what could be an epic showdown. Donnie is always going to get meaty stories throughout the season; because of his job, he has a chance to do a wide array of different stuff and with a number of different people. It’s akin to being a real detective, where your work changes on a case-by-case basis.
