Outlander notes: Sam Heughan’s new charity campaign, TV appearance

Now, let’s kick things off with a discussion of Sam’s new campaign with Omaze, a site that helps celebrities raise money for important causes through various giveaways. This one should be especially exciting for fans given that it’s a chance to spend some time with Sam in Scotland; you can be his date for the upcoming My Peak Challenge gala, and in the process have an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience. The winner and a friend will be flown out to Scotland, put up in a hotel, and have an opportunity to spend some time with Sam and a number of key My Peak Challenge supporters. These sort of giveaways are often fun, and beyond that you know your money is going to a great cause regardless of whether or nor you win. Best of luck to everyone who decides to take part in the event this year!
Sam’s new Live with Kelly and Ryan appearance – We know that some of his appearances on the show have been controversial in the past for fans — not so much in terms of anything Sam did, but instead some of the questions that are handed this way. We do still wish that there is a little bit less of a focus on his appearance during these sort of segments, but there’s also some discussion in here about Diane Lane, James Bond, and things that scare Sam. There’s also a little bit of season 4 talk at the very end here, though it is mostly information that you have heard elsewhere. At this point, at least when it comes to mainstream press where the audience doesn’t necessarily know the show, it’s tough to have any new information to hand out at this point.
