Chicago Med season 4 episode 6 review: Halloween and bachelor / bachelorette parties

Chicago Med

Chicago Med season 4 episode 6 gave you a series of cases set around Halloween, but to be clear, there weren’t too many costumes or anything else here. Instead, this was more about Manning and Halstead almost losing their jobs in the midst of a stunt to save a patient.

Did that stunt work? Well, as it turns out, it was a success — but it came with a heavy risk. We understand why they wanted to help their patient — she was being abused by a man who was threatening her with her immigration status. That’s why this situation was so dire.

Beyond just this story, though, there were some other crises as a young girl’s life was on the line and she was in desperate need of a liver transplant. The only person who could really help her was her biological mother, who could have been a mitch in terms of her liver transplant. They were able to find said mother and while the girl didn’t want to see her, this was a chance at redemption.

Yet, in the midst of all of the hardship tonight — which also included Ethan trying to turn things around when it comes to his relationship with Emily and also Dr. Rhodes getting into it again with Dr. Lannick — there was a little bit of fun tonight. As the episode neared the conclusion, Will and Natalie had a chance to celebrate their bachelor and bachelorette parties together. It was a little bit unorthodox, but also rather adult — they didn’t need to do anything too crazy given their professions. They just needed to have a little bit of drama.

Oh, and there’s one thing we should add here on the Ethan story. It turns out that his sister is planning to move to Las Vegas, which means that we may not see too much more of either or her or Bernie … provided that this relationship ends up working out. There is a reason to be worried about that and then some.

CarterMatt Verdict

We wish that there was more of Halloween and of the bachelor / bachelorette parties in this, mostly because not all of the medical cases were super-compelling and because there was a chance for a whole lot of fun. Granted, we’re not sure as to how much fun there was really going to be with Will given everything that was still going on when it comes to the operation that he’s working on with his brother.
