Richard Madden anticipates Bodyguard season 2 after first-season success
We know that for star Richard Madden himself, he is very much prepared for taking on more of the series. For a little bit more on that subject, and the show’s renewal chances, take a look at what he said to Deadline recently:
I think it probably is [coming back]. I’m going to meet [writer] Jed [Mercurio] in a couple of weeks, to have a chat and see what’s in his brilliant brain. So I’m like, what can happen next? You know, with David. Because he had a hell of a couple months there. Where do you go with this guy?
We do think that Madden has a rather-excellent point at the moment: Given everything that we’ve seen David go through already, is it really possible for this guy to go through so much more? How much more suffering could he actually experience? We think that one of the great parallels here is Carrie from Homeland. She’s someone often counted on in order to ensure the safety of many people, and while she is able to get the job done, she is often forced to battle a number of her own demons along the way. Getting justice and securing the future is rarely ever a straight line and that is something that these shows do showcase.
With David Budd moving forward, anyone who hires him should be confident in his capacity for success. Yet, there may also still be concern over his demons along the way.
