NCIS season 16 spoilers: Is Gibbs’ team about to face some trouble?

NCIS

It’s been a recurring theme when it comes to the NCIS franchise for quite some time — teams being put under a microscope. It’s a huge part of what is going on over on NCIS: Los Angeles at the moment, and we’ve certainly seen echoes of it over on NCIS: New Orleans.

With all of this said, is it possible that the main show in the franchise may be feeling some of the same heat? Signs seem to be suggesting that very thing. According to a new report coming in right now via TVLine, midway through this season Gibbs and the rest of the team are going to find themselves at odds with the Secretary of Defense. What’s going on here? Well, the team’s going to do something that goes against whatever the Secretary wanted them to do … and it goes so far as to them breaking the law along the way. This is going to lead to everyone being focused on — and to think, there wasn’t enough turmoil here with Vance recovering from what happened to him at the end of this past season.

Does it make some sense for some of these organizations to be routinely put under the microscope? Absolutely, especially when there are some positions like Secretary of Defense that do have a tendency to frequently change.

We’ll have to see precisely what this story holds before rendering a full verdict on it — for now, we do have some nervousness that it is a little bit too similar to a number of other stories that we’ve heard about before, but time will tell if that ends up ultimately being the case.
