On this particular Halloween, there is quite a treat when it comes to The Conners — some rather impressive ratings!

Tuesday night’s new episode of the ABC series ended up generating a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic, improving slightly on the show’s performance from the week prior. For those out there who felt like the show would die without Roseanne Barr, clearly that is not going to be the case. We also do not anticipate that it’s going to be anywhere near the hit that it once was, but ABC will be more than happy if this hovers close to a 2.0 for the rest of the season. That’s not something that they’re really getting from most of their series these days; a renewal is still up in the air, though, mostly because this show arrived into this season with a rather-unusual set of circumstances.
As for what is happening elsewhere, it is bad news for Lethal Weapon as the show has slipped down to a 0.6 rating in the demo. We’ve said for a while that there was some optimism that the series could come out and work its way towards a renewal, if the ratings stayed even; yet, this is not what Fox had to be hoping for. If this is the rating the show gets the rest of the season, it’s hard to imagine anyone thinking that this show is altogether worth the trouble. In between this series and The Gifted, Tuesday nights are easily the worst thing that Fox has going at the moment.
While the majority of the ratings from last night were either reasonably even or acceptable, we do have to spend a moment discussing the recent performance of Black Lightning, which managed to slip down to a 0.3 rating in the demo for its own most-recent episode. That’s a pretty-hefty drop
