Dancing with the Stars: Juniors: Honey Boo Boo eliminated in week 4
One of the things that is noteworthy about this show, in comparison at least to the flagship one, is that there is no public vote from America. If there was, we have to think that Honey Boo Boo could’ve stuck around longer. The former TLC star was at one point a reality TV sensation, and she actually was getting a little bit better over the season. She wasn’t a great dancer by the end, but there wasn’t as big of a divide here as you’re getting with Grocery Store Joe and some other people on Dancing with the Stars proper.
Will losing Honey Boo Boo hurt the series’ ratings in the South? It’s possible; one under-reported story at the moment does seem to be that Dancing with the Stars: Juniors is at least doing tolerably well in the ratings. It’s not shocking anyone, but at least it’s found a way to justify its existence. It’s reasonably low-budget and with that in mind, we do think that it could return again in the future. ABC just needs to think of a different use for that 10:00 p.m. Eastern timeslot than The Alec Baldwin Show, given that it’s now proven that there isn’t a huge audience of people out there eager to see it. As a matter of fact, we’d wager that this could turn out to be the first cancellation of the season.
For Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, the show will go on. We’ve only in the fourth week of the competition right now, and there are a number of other notable dances still to come in the weeks ahead.
