The Last Ship season 5 episode 8 video: Does Chandler have a plan?

As we inch closer to The Last Ship season 5 episode 8 on TNT this Sunday, it is clear that the United States is in peril. While it seemed for some time like the Nathan James and the military were getting the edge on Gustavo, he found a way to surprise them.

Beyond just that, Gustavo found some valuable intel in the form of a map of the Command Center. His forces were able to overtake that using an elaborate scheme (and Kelsey) to make it happen. They now seem to have an upper hand, and it is going to be up to Chandler and the crew to figure out a counter.

The first thing worth noting here is that for now, the President seems to be safe. That is one of the most important priorities at present since if something happens to him, it could throw most of the United States into chaos and that could cause unprecedented damage in the effort to take Gustavo down. The next order of business here is for Chandler to figure out a way to fight back, and it just so turns out that there may still be a plan for him and some others to utilize. As the sneak peek below makes it clear, just because Gustavo knows the Command Center does not mean that he knows everything else. There are still some ways to circumvent some of the information that the enemy has and with that in mind, you have to be prepared for the team to take advantage of just about every single tool within their arsenal to make that happen.

This episode could be the one that restores some hope to the United States — given that there are only three episodes left, you really have to hope that it does. We want there to be some sort of happy ending at the end of this journey, even if it takes a long time to get there.
