Is Tony Terraciano leaving Blue Bloods, Jack Reagan character?

Blue Bloods season 9

Is Tony Terraciano leaving Blue Bloods, and the character of Jack Reagan behind after Friday’s new episode?

As we approached the end of this episode, it did appear as though Jack was prepared to move forward with the next phase of his life — he was getting set for school and preparing to make a big leap forward. This is an emotional time in any father’s life and we do think that Danny was thinking about all of this with his son.

So what does this story mean when it comes to Tony Terraciano and his future on the CBS series? At the moment, it remains unclear but he has been credited for every single episode of the police series during its run so far. He’s been a staple of family dinner, even if he isn’t seen elsewhere in every episode. It’s similar in that way to Nicky and Sean — and, in some cases, even Henry.

Still, the idea of any change when it comes to the classic family-dinner structure at Blue Bloods is going to make people worried. One of the big reasons for this show’s continuous popularity is that it brings you completely into its world and makes you care about all of its characters, whether it be Danny Reagan, his boys, his father, or his grandfather. This is why there was so much sadness when Amy Carlson’s Linda Reagan was killed off; meanwhile, additions are also exciting when they are popular characters like Vanessa Ray’s Eddie.

The good news about a character going to college is this: They can always come back. With that, we have to think that there will still be possibilities to see Jack on the show in the future. We’ll see what the future holds, and we’re certainly not writing off anything at the moment. The fact that nothing terrible and tragic happened leaves everything open-ended. Nothing has been 100% confirmed that Tony is leaving for good, and that’s important to note.

If this is the end for Jack on Blue Bloods, will you miss having that particular character around? Be sure to share in the comments!
