Supernatural season 14 episode 4 preview: What’s next in ‘Mint Condition’

HALLOWEEN HORROR – Dean (Jensen Ackles) continues to struggle. Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki) must think fast when action figures come to life, and our heroes find themselves living in a real-life horror movie. When Supernatural does an episode that is even related remotely to Halloween, you have to think that the expectations are going to be ratcheting up a notch. It only makes sense for them to be. This is an episode that actually does feel like a classic Supernatural in the sense that there is some sort of weird phenomenon and it’s up to the Winchester brothers in order to figure out the origins and also precisely how to solve it. We like that, since this is, at least for us, the bread and butter of this show. We want this to be a story that we can dive into and enjoy for some time, really regardless of how much screen time is actually devoted to some other characters including Jack and Castiel. We feel like there’s going to be more than enough story for both of them to sink their teeth into for at least a little ways into the future.
Hopefully, this episode is just one of many strange, imaginative hours that we get to see throughout the season. Some standalone Supernatural hours are still mysterious and aren’t altogether promoted all that far in advance.
