With that, the November 16 episode “Three for the Road” is going to accomplish that by giving us a unique story that allows Mike Baxter to spend some time with both Boyd and Ryan — while Ryan may not be related by blood, this is still a chance for three different generations to come together for a family fishing trip. Of course, it was never really the plan for all of them to go together in this way. That’s just a part of the comedy!

When Mike offers to take Boyd on a fishing trip, Ryan objects because the plans interfere with an existing trip he had made with his son. Boyd then insists the three take a trip together, forcing Mike and Ryan to get along. Meanwhile Mandy and Kyle play detectives in the all-new “Three for the Road” episode of LAST MAN STANDING airing Friday, Nov. 16 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (LMS-706) (TV-PG D, L)
Does the Mandy / Kyle storyline seem like there’s comedic potential there? Absolutely, but it’s admittedly a little bit harder to get amped-up about it when you don’t really know why they are pretending to be detectives. This is a fun tease, but for now, the fishing trip is the thing we’re focusing on entering the episode. Also, along the way we do think that this is going to be the primary A story for the hour.
