The Crown season 3 spoilers: Call the Midwife alum Emerald Fennell set

Crown season 3

We do still miss Patsy on Call the Midwifebut we do come bearing good news now regarding Emerald Fennell and The Crown.

According to a report from TVLine, the actress / writer is going to be appearing on the upcoming third season of the Netflix drama as Camilla Parker Bowles. It’s a pretty notable role, and one that she should be able to make a meal out of in the weeks to come. Back when Fennell first left Call the Midwife in order to further pursue her writing career, we were worried that we wouldn’t get to see too many more notable acting roles from her now. We’re happy that some of those fears are squelched.

Below, here is what Fennell had to say to the aforementioned publication about the role:

“I’m absolutely over the moon, and completely terrified, to be joining so many hugely talented people on The Crown … I absolutely love Camilla, and am very grateful that my teenage years have well prepared me for playing a chain-smoking serial snogger with a pudding bowl haircut.”

The Crown season 3 certainly has a fantastic cast with a number of known names. Olivia Colman is set to play the latest iteration of Queen Elizabeth, while you are also going to see Outlander actor Tobias Menzies in the role of Prince Philip. Some other notable cast members include Helena Bonham Carter and Josh O’Connor. This season is going to premiere at some point in 2019 and we’re certainly excited to see a number of different previews for what’s ahead. This is one of the most ambitious shows on TV, but it’s certainly earned our trust over time. After all, we know that this is one of the strongest overall series on TV and 2018 is going to be missing something with it off the air.

Hopefully, a formal The Crown season 3 premiere date is going to be announced at some point in the future.
