The Cry season 2: Could it ever happen for Jenna Coleman series?

The Cry episode 1

Following tonight’s finale on BBC One tonight, what does the future hold when it comes to The Cry season 2?

Well, let’s just say not to expect all that much at the moment for one simple reason: This is a series that is based on source material, and it was always intended to be a four-episode event. After all, Jenna Coleman already has another series in Victoria, and that is her regular full-time gig. British series often are comfortable being within the limited format, where they can just air a collection of episodes and everyone can move forward.

What we would hope for if you’ve enjoyed the presentation of The Cry is that this eventually leads to the BBC continuing to adapt other important stories so that we can get a wide array of intense, dramatic, and fascinating stories coming up. The more of these to make it to the air, more than likely the better off the TV landscape is going to be as a whole. These offer up actors a chance to deliver some great performances, ones that are different from what you see pretty much anywhere else.

If you do love Jenna Coleman, know that we’re going to see another season of Victoria coming up at some point in the very-near future (think by early 2019); as for whether or not we’re going to get more than that down the road, it remains to be seen. We just can assume that in between that show and also her work here, Coleman’s got the ability to pick and choose between a number of different excellent roles. The world really could be her oyster when it comes to some of the various opportunities she could have. We just hope that she continues to remain in the TV world … though we do also wonder if she will ever opt to make the jump over to America.
