Game of Thrones reunion special was filmed in Belfast, Sean Bean confirms
Yet, Bean (who of course played Ned Stark on the long-running HBO series) recently confirmed via The Hollywood Reporter that he filmed a reunion special in Belfast around the conclusion of the final season, one that features many of the cast members alongside host Conan O’Brien. This is what he had to say about it in the contest of how often he sees some of his former cast members:
I’ve only seen them on a couple of occasions. Last time, was about four weeks ago in Belfast. Conan O’Brien did this thing. It was the last episode, so we all got together. It was good! It’s funny with work, you don’t really keep in touch. You do so many types of jobs in that part of the world. It’s just like whenever I see old friends or even old drama school friends, it’s just the same, we pick up where we left off last time.
We certainly understand where Bean is coming from here, mostly because it was so long ago when he was a part of the series! Most of the show’s young cast members were kids way back when and they’ve since matured and become big stars. Meanwhile, he’s gone on to do many other things. It’s still so interesting to go back and look at Game of Thrones season 1, back when Ned was a major point-of-view character. If you did not know the source material or spoilers, that truly was one of the most-surprising TV events of its era. Go ahead and add the Red Wedding to that list, as well.
Game of Thrones season 9 is airing at some point in the first half of 2019; we imagine that this special will surface at some point around then.
