Last Man Standing, Blindspot season 4 ratings slip; Blue Bloods strong in viewers
Take, for example, with NBC and Blindspot, where it’s pretty clear that this show is in serious danger after this season. Friday’s new episode drew overall just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and that does not bode altogether well for the series’ future.
Meanwhile, Last Man Standing feels almost like a lock to come back if the cast and crew are still game. The series drew last night a 1.2 rating in the demo, which is down slightly from the week before but still tops on the night in this measurement. The Cool Kids, fresh off of a full-season order, slipped slightly but also posted a still-impressive 0.9.
We were slightly worried going into the season that Last Man Standing would take a huge bite out of MacGyver, but that hasn’t shown itself to really be the case. It managed to draw a 0.7 rating in the demo last night and we do feel fairly optimistic over its future. Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods remained super-steady with a 0.8, and Blue Bloods won the night in viewers with more than eight million people watching. At present, Blue Bloods still remains the eighth wonder of the world when it comes to its numbers; it barely ever gets publicity (though it has gotten more in the aftermath of the Jamko proposal), but it somehow manages to still be one of TV’s most-watched shows. It just skews a little bit old and that seems to make a lot of publications out there think that it doesn’t matter as much.
Over on The CW, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend continues to show that it was renewed mostly on the basis of quality, as it generated a 0.1 rating in the demo for the second straight week. We do want to see it go out on a slightly-higher note, but at the moment, that doesn’t feel all that likely.
