‘Shiptober 2018: NCIS: Los Angeles (Deeks & Kensi) vs. Grey’s Anatomy (Owen & Amelia)
It’s a chance to celebrate some of the greatest ‘ships that the TV has to offer, and we’ve got a fun tournament this year to go along with it. Over the course of this month, we’ll be running some ‘Shiptober polls while also discussing what makes some of these couples so great and also sharing some teases / expectations for upcoming episodes! This is a chance to celebrate and discuss great ‘ships while gauging their popularity among readers at the same time. Only one ‘ship will be crowned the victor at the very end!
Voting Rules – Vote however often you like! Only one ‘ship from round 2 will move onward, and we are keeping these polls open until Sunday, October 21 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. The following day, the third round will officially begin. (All of the information needed can be found in the bracket image above.)
In this ‘Shiptober battle, we are featuring two likable ‘ships from long-running series. Both Deeks & Kensi from NCIS: Los Angeles and Owen & Amelia from Grey’s Anatomy fared well in the first round, so we’ve got a lot of confidence that this will happen in round two.
Deeks & Kensi, NCIS: Los Angeles (#1 seed) – Now is a pretty great time to be a Densi fan. After all, the relationship between the two is now in a much better place after having some bumps in the road at the start of the season. Beyond just that, they are also set to dive into wedding planning! This is something that was a big plot point on this past episode and if this current trajectory continues, there should be a lot of fun storylines leading to the ceremony — which, more than likely, will take place at some point in the new year. Given that Deeks & Kensi are not an ordinary couple by any means, their wedding is probably going to be more than a little bit atypical.
Owen & Amelia, Grey’s Anatomy (#5 seed) – After a really strong showing in the first round, Omelia is now set to do battle against another prominent ‘ship. They’re certainly bringing a lot of great story to the table right now as well! While the two are doing the best that they can to handle their new family dynamic, a big surprise is waiting around the corner in Teddy’s pregnancy. Meredith’s found out about it, and that suggests that eventually, Owen and Amelia will get clued in. That could lead to a number of important conversations, but it is no guarantee that this particular relationship is in jeopardy. Given everything that they’ve been through so far, this could be just another hurdle. (At the same time, Owen’s gotta step up and be a good parent!)
