Timeless movie: Ready for the first table read to be here?
In a new post on Twitter, the show’s official writers’ room confirmed that today is the first tone meeting for the two-hour finale, while tomorrow will be the first table read for the cast. Filming officially starts for the finale on Monday, and it’s going to air at some point in December on NBC. The great thing about this movie is that clearly, you aren’t going to have to wait all that long in order to watch it.
Yet, one thing that you do have to remember here along the way is that while this is labeled the finale now, this is no guarantee that it will be the final episode down the road. The writers’ room recommends that you go out there and convince your friends and family to watch the show on Hulu. If there is increased viewership on that platform, or a larger viewer total when the movie actually airs, that could be enough to ensure that someone picks up Timeless for a season 3 down the road. Is it a longshot? Sure, but it was considered at one point a longshot that NBC would un-cancel the series after season 1, or that they would pick the show back up for a movie after canceling it following season 2. This is a fandom that knows a thing or two about defying the odds.
Throughout the filming process, we certainly imagine that we’re going to have even more updates on filming, the effort to save the show, and a whole lot more. The Timeless inner circle has always been great at giving us opportunities to see and hear about what’s going on behind the scenes. We have a feeling that this experience won’t be any different.
