Blue Bloods season 9 episode 4 sneak peek: Frank’s latest debate
Take, for example, this: Is everyone really operating in the way in which they should? In the video, you can see Frank and his advisory team go through the actions of a Chief from the night before and discuss what can be done as a result of it.
In a lot of ways, this entire discussion is a modified version of one that we’ve heard on Blue Bloods over the years more times than we can count — someone in the police department does something questionable and Frank has to find a compromise. There are bad cops and there are good cops; then, there are the ones who exist in the gray. Many of the discussions that Frank takes on are the latter, given that if a case involving a cop is black-and-white, it doesn’t always make it to him. He has to take on the hardest of issues and his thinking about them seems to change over the years.
This is one of the things that we do really appreciate about Blue Bloods over the years — it’s a little bit more fluid than you would initially think. Frank is receptive to other thoughts and opinions, and how he resolves crises in 2018 isn’t exactly the same as how he did it five years old. It’s a show enriched in traditionalism, while also still open to evolution.
For a bonus sneak peek, also take a look at what’s going on with Erin as she tries to navigate the ins and outs of her new promotion. We imagine that this is going to take her some time to navigate, given that so many more eyes are now on her than before.
