‘Shiptober 2018: Lucifer (Lucifer & Chloe) vs. Legends of Tomorrow (Sara & Ava)
It’s a chance to celebrate some of the greatest ‘ships that the TV has to offer, and we’ve got a fun tournament this year to go along with it. Over the course of this month, we’ll be running some ‘Shiptober polls while also discussing what makes some of these couples so great and also sharing some teases / expectations for upcoming episodes! This is a chance to celebrate and discuss great ‘ships while gauging their popularity among readers at the same time. Only one ‘ship will be crowned the victor at the very end!
Voting Rules – Vote however often you like! Only one ‘ship from round 2 will move onward, and we are keeping these polls open until Sunday, October 21 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. The following day, the third round will officially begin. (All of the information needed can be found in the bracket image above.)
In this ‘Shiptober battle, two very-popular ‘ships from the first round are set to engage in a potentially epic battle: Lucifer & Chloe from Lucifer, and then Sara & Ava from Legends of Tomorrow. One will move forward to the next round, and there’s a chance this one could be close!
Lucifer & Chloe, Lucifer (#1 seed) – On the surface, it may be easy to say that Deckerstar have the edge in the battle, given that they won the Crime Dynamic Duos tournament earlier this year and they have an enormous internet following. These are the same people who brought the show back from the brink after Fox canceled it! The relationship here is fun, the chemistry is great, and there’s potential for so many interesting developments in season 4 now that the truth about Lucifer is out there. Yet, it’s best for voters to stay alert here given that there’s a tough competitor with some tremendous underdog spirit in this particular battle. No matter who you side with, these are two great ‘ships with some excellent stories ahead — for Deckerstar, it’s easy to assume that season 4 will be about them trying to come together … if that it is even possible in the aftermath of Lucifer’s secret. It may be less about what his secret actually was, and more about the fact that he kept one in the first place.
Sara & Ava, Legends of Tomorrow (#4 seed) – Over the past year or so Legends of Tomorrow has really become the go-to superhero show for people who love to have a good time; yet, it also still remains under the radar. It doesn’t have as many big comic-book names, but it’s chock full of fun characters and interesting creative risks. There’s a reason why it’s being promoted like TV’s unsung hero moving into Monday’s premiere, and why Avalance is also treated as one of TV’s most-underrated ‘ships. On paper, these two characters are certainly different — a tough, free-thinking, once-dead time-traveling warrior falling in love with a very stringent head of a time-regulating organization who was originally created as an operational clone. What makes Sara & Ava so great is what happens when they come together — they bring such a fun, adventurous side out of each other, almost like they each offer each other perspective that they were previously missing. There will be more of that in season 4, even if their roles leave them at times in opposition.
