NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 4 review: Did Lasalle’s crisis get resolved?

NCIS: New Orleans season 4 premiere

Tonight, NCIS: New Orleans did feature a conspiracy within the tight-knit fishing community around the city, it also did so many more. After all, this episode gave us a good opportunity in order to tie together a major Lasalle loose end from the end of last season.

If you think back to way back when, then you will likely remember that Lasalle’s father got his company into jeopardy thanks mostly to some unpaid taxes. Tonight, things became a little bit more complicated when it looked as though the man was embezzling money … though it wasn’t entirely as it seemed. Instead, it turned out that he was giving money back to employees, who he treated like family. This doesn’t resolve the IRS issue, but it showed that at least there isn’t any further criminal activity going down here.

So what happened at the end of this episode for Lasalle? We’ll have more on that soon…

As for what we got when it comes to the fishing community case tonight, the more that Hannah and the NCIS team got answers, the more confusing that things started to get. How could an industry so small find itself so corrupted? This basically led to a young girl in Amy’s desperate quest for revenge and justice with a gun, and a stand-off that led to Hannah taking the firearm away from her. This girl’s family had been disenfranchised by someone in Eddie who did some sabotage in the way of industry progress; basically, she had to figure out a way in which to set him up for the crime he committed at the jump of this episode. She allowed herself to be bait in order to make sure that this guy was arrested.

Where was Pride during all of this?

He is still doing his part in order to ensure that everything would be okay with Lasalle. At the end of the episode, he decided that the best thing that he could do was liquidate the company. In doing that, he could ensure that he could get under the weight of the IRS and move forward. While he may not have much in the way of an inheritance, he doesn’t care about that. He just wants to be able to make a move or two forward.

CarterMatt verdict

This episode of NCIS: New Orleans last the last before the 100th episode, and we would say that it had its fair share of epic moments. How else would you describe a stand-off at the end of the episode?
