NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 3 review: Can Callen trust Joelle?
Granted, the character (presumed dead by some) did not exactly come about via expected ways. She was accused at one point in being involved in a murder plot against a Saudi prince, but she did her part to assure Callen and the rest of the team that she was actually innocent. Callen believed her, and over time some other people came around. (We feel for Eric, who had to find out about everything rather abruptly.) It should also noted that Joelle had a persona vendetta against those coming after the prince, and that motivated her further to try to make a move alongside the good guys.

Sam and Callen were tasked over this episode to protect the Prince, and over the course of the episode, they were success. Yet, it was far from easy. That was made all the clearer by the shooter on the roof; it was also Joelle who ended up being the hero here in pointing out who the real assailant was. she basically risked her life in order to save the Prince, since Kensi could have easily shot her in the heat of the moment.
After all of this, it’s pretty clear that Joelle’s relationship with the rest of the NCIS: LA team is strengthened; yet, it remains to be seen just how much more of her we’ll see this season.
Kensi, Deeks continue the wedding plans
After having to put them off for a long time because of Mexico and a wide array of other stuff, the characters insisted tonight that they are making some moves in the future for the big ceremony. They are thinking about a venue, a date, outfits, catering, and so much more. They were starting to get overwhelmed over the process but Sam assured them that there is nothing to worry about — just take things at their own pace and they will figure it out.
CarterMatt Verdict
Overall, we think that NCIS: Los Angeles delivered an entertaining, Callen-centric episode that allowed Joelle a chance to revisit her family after spending some time on the run. In between what he’s been through with both her and also Anna, he’s in one of the most complicated romantic situations out of anyone. Yet, this doesn’t feel like a typical love triangle. These are just people who Callen cares about and he wants them both to be okay. With Joelle, he just wanted her tonight to find a way to move forward after everything that’s happened. He encouraged her to do that in the closing minutes, and then eventually drove away.
Yet, in the end, Joelle decided to not walk inside, and we hope that this comes up down the road.
