Who is Jimmy Veneziano? NCIS: Los Angeles honors actor with title card
There are some people out there who may remember Jimmy for his role on Sons of Anarchy, where he played the role of Jim the Mechanic for a couple of episodes. Beyond just that, he worked in casting for both Sons of Anarchy in addition to NCIS: Los Angeles. He was an important player behind the scenes, and at times, he did work without even getting full credit within the industry — there are only a few credits on his IMDb page but his work goes far beyond that. He was involved in the recovery community and also was very familiar with the motorcycle community even beyond his work within the Sons of Anarchy world.
In giving Veneziano a title card at the end of tonight’s episode, what NCIS: Los Angeles showed is that his contributions to their world is not forgotten. He made an impact to the people who were there, whether they be other crew members, producers, or other assorted people behind the scenes. This is a moment that will mean a lot to his family, in addition to being a way for fans to learn a little bit more about him and his contributions to the show. This is a chance to make a public declaration; with that, this represents NCIS: Los Angeles wanting everyone to know how much they cared about him.
Jimmy passed away earlier this summer, but the network decided that this would be the time to properly honor him. They may have had a specific reason for this timing; above all else, they certainly do not want him to be forgotten.
