Want to know some of what’s coming on Madam Secretary season 5 episode 3? This is a story entitled “The Rake” and over the course of this hour, you’re going to see Fashion week in Milan take center stage … but not how you would think.
What we really like about the construction of this episode is that in some ways, Fashion Week is the perfect cover for what’s really going on here: Elizabeth squaring off with the Chinese Foreign Minister over sweatshop atrocities. This is something that China certainly would want swept under the rug, and Elizabeth is a powerful enough person who could cause problems for the country. This is especially true given this particular setting — you want to have eyes on you at Fashion Week, but you want it to be because of the fashion, and not so much for really any other reason.
Below, CarterMatt has the Madam Secretary season 5 episode 3 synopsis with some more news regarding what lies ahead:
“The Rake”– Elizabeth flies to Fashion Week in Milan to face off against the Chinese Foreign Minister over an anti-sweatshop treaty in the aftermath of a tragedy. Also, Daisy struggles with feelings of fear and pessimism over her baby’s future, under the threat of rising nationalism in the wake of the attack on the White House, on MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, Oct. 21 (10:30-11:30 PM, ET/10:00-11:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The Daisy storyline is going to clearly be the more personal of the stories we are going to see in this episode, especially since it’s one that many people out there may understand and feel on some level. We’re living in such an uncertain period of time, and because of that, there is also a great deal of fear. That’s especially true for minority groups who worry that this country is becoming something totally different from what they remember over the course of the past couple of decades. We’re anticipating some very great, powerful material here.
