Lucifer season 4: Should Sam Heughan appear in the future?
Yet, it is also a pipe dream that we very much like to think about! In a new post on Twitter, show executive producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson both made it clear that they would be very much thrilled to get the Outlander star on the show. (Meanwhile, Sam certainly seems to be game for the opportunity himself.) It makes sense — Lucifer is a fun series that would give Heughan a chance to do something totally new, and beyond that, he and series star Tom Ellis have known each other for years.

Interestingly enough, there is a way in this current dream scenario that we like to imagine this gig happening, given that Outlander is not filming season 5 until early next year and Lucifer is currently shooting right now. Sam’s been rather busy as of late with the movie Bloodshot, but if he had ever had a week or two clear in his schedule over the next couple of months, it would be a thrill to see him pop over for an appearance whether it’s as a friend, an adversary, or somewhere in between. Beyond just the obvious fun of having Tom and Sam on the same series, it could be a nice viewer boost to Lucifer — Sam has a devoted following and Lucifer could still use more attention after its move to Netflix. As of right now, there is no guarantee that it will end up getting a season 5 … though we do think that Netflix didn’t just renew it to then cancel it after one season. We think that they’d like for it to keep going as long as possible.
Outlander season 4, featuring Sam alongside Caitriona Balfe, will premiere on Starz come November 4. Lucifer season 4 is expecting to launch on Netflix at some point in 2019.
