Supernatural season 14 episode 2 preview: What’s next in ‘Gods and Monsters’
Going into it, one thing feels very clear: Sam Winchester isn’t going to be so lucky when it comes to his search for Michael. This is something that it will take some time to figure out, especially since “Dean” is off doing some different stuff at the moment. (By the way, how much fun is it getting to see Jensen Ackles in this particular role? It’s a chance to give us some different aspects to his performance than what we’ve seen so far.)

RICHARD SPEIGHT, JR. RETURNS TO DIRECT – Sam (Jared Padalecki) finds a clue to Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) whereabouts, so he, Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) and Bobby (guest star Jim Beaver) set out to investigate. Castiel imparts some sage advice on Jack (Alexander Calvert), who, still desperate to belong, seeks out a familial connection. Richard Speight, Jr. directed the episode written by Brad Buckner and Eugenie Ross-Leming. (#1402). Original airdate 10/18/2018.
One of the best things about the Michael story is that it does allow us to see so many other characters in various contexts. That’s why it’s nice to have back Jim Beaver, someone who is always welcome in our eyes. We’ve seen Supernatural become a little more of an ensemble show over the years and to some extent, we know that this is polarizing. Personally, we’re all for getting some different perspectives here and there … provided, of course, that we do get some more classic Supernatural standalone hours at some point down the road. These to us do still remain the bread and butter of the series, and the thing that we enjoy more so than anything else.
