Sarah Drew isn’t watching Grey’s Anatomy season 15; why that’s not surprising
As a whole, it’s fairly common for actors to not watch a show after they depart from it. After all, they are tied to it emotionally in ways that very few others are, and it can be hard to tune in again — especially if the decision to write you out was not of your own doing. (There are also some other actors, think Andrew Lincoln of The Walking Dead fame, who does not watch himself on TV at all.)
Speaking (via Entertainment Weekly) recently, here is what Drew had to say on the subject:
“I haven’t been watching … You know, it‘s a little painful to kind of go and watch your family move on without you … I wish everybody the best and I know they’re having a wonderful time.”
We are curious to see what Grey’s Anatomy season 15 could have been like with Drew still a part of the cast, especially with Jackson (Jesse Williams) now going through something akin to his own crisis of faith. Both Drew and the Grey’s Anatomy team have each said in the past that they are open to April coming back and doing more appearances in the future — this is probably just something that we’ll have to take a wait-and-see approach on. Drew was attached to a Cagney & Lacey pilot that didn’t end up being picked up at CBS, but we’re pretty sure that she will land another role at some point in the near future.
