The CW orders more Charmed, Legacies, and All American scripts

All American season 1

The CW hasn’t picked up any of their new shows just yet for a full season, but one thing feels very clear: They are looking towards the future.

Today, the network ordered five more scripts for football drama All American as well as the new Charmed reboot, bringing their total to eighteen. Meanwhile, they have also ordered three more scripts for The Originals spin-off Legacies, which brings its current order to 16.

While there is no guarantee that these scripts will become actual episodes, at the same time it does seem like the network is feeling reasonably hopeful with the future chances of all of these shows. They think that they have something here and they really hope that viewers out there are going to be in agreement with this very thing.

Luckily, we’re going to get a chance to learn sooner rather than later the fate of all of these shows — hopefully, they all collectively prove themselves to be every bit as entertaining as the networks hope that they’re going to be. All American on the surface seems to be the one with the strongest amount of buzz behind it. Meanwhile, Charmed is the most polarizing of the three and Legacies has the challenge of finding some of the same audience that The Originals / The Vampire Diaries has while also developing some new fans at the same time.

Of these shows, you are going to be seeing All American premiere first, as it is going to be following up the premiere of Riverdale that is airing on the network Wednesday night. We’ll get a chance to see what the precise ratings are for that on Thursday when some of the fast national numbers are available.
