The Middle spin-off starring Eden Sher now has a title
There’s been a good bit of talk as of late regarding the upcoming The Middle spin-off featuring Eden Sher. Now, we’ve got some more fantastic news to pass along on that subject: The name.
According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, Sue Sue In The City is the current title for the new version of the show, which is (fittingly) going to be in a far more urban setting than the original show that ran on ABC. Sher’s character is named Sue Sue Heck, which is the origin for a title that may otherwise feel like something your Microsoft Word tries to get you to correct.
Will this series ultimately end up making it to the air? At the moment, it’s still too early to know for sure. We do realize that The Middle has a loyal following, and that should be a major motivating factor in the network wanting to consider this. Yet, if the network is going to do this, we hope that they take their time in order to get it right. Even if that means we have to wait a long time to get it, we think that it’s certainly worth it.
One other thing that we know about the spin-off at the moment is that we’re going to get a good bit more of Brad, who was Sue’s best friend on the original show. The aforementioned site confirmed that Brock Ciarlelli will be a series regular on the spin-off, which basically means that you will be seeing a good bit more of this character coming up.
ABC has built for itself a rather substantial comedy lineup based on families; while this will be a slight twist on that, the connections that Sue has to The Middle should, at least in theory, make it possible for this to develop a similar fanbase. The original show developed a rather huge following over time, even if it was under-the-radar for the vast majority of its run.
Are you excited to eventually check out this series, if it actually comes to pass? Be sure to share right now in the comments!
