Outlander season 4: Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, cast hit NYCC main stage

Outlander season 4

Today, Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin are at New York Comic-Con, and this morning they hit the Syfy main stage.

So what did they have to say? Let’s start here by saying that there was a rather MASSIVE crowd at the convention to greet the group. There was enthusiasm, and given that this was still in the morning, that’s not always the easiest thing in the world to do.

As for some of the conversation that was had, Balfe opened things up by discussing being able to remain in Scotland, but also set that in North Carolina. She compared it to a massive movie set discussing the community that was constructed. She praised production designer Jon Gary Steele, who is outstanding in just about everything that she does.

Romantically, Balfe also noted that Claire and Jamie are “really solid” this season — with that, there are no major cliffhangers when it comes to the pair. There are arguments and conflicts, but nothing that will split the two up.

Meanwhile, Skelton had the following to say when it comes to the progression of Brianna and Roger this year:

“It’s been really nice because it’s been kind of a slow burn for us … This season, they really are dealing with [a whole new world].”

Finally, Rankin noted in the Q&A portion that he was asked to sign an anatomically-correct Roger doll, whereas Balfe previously autographed Tupperware while on board a plane. Heughan jokingly advocated for a job in the Game of Thrones prequel, and Rankin joked that if he was stuck on a deserted island with an inanimate object, he would pick (of course) aforementioned anatomically-correct Roger. Rankin continues to be the life of the party at these panels.

You can watch the discussion today below, but you may have to move around the video in order to see them. (Note that it took place at around 11:15 a.m. Eastern time.)
