Grey’s Anatomy season 15: What’s happening with Jesse Williams’ Jackson Avery?
At the moment, the status of this character is clearly one of the show’s biggest mysteries, and very much for good reason. Jackson went off the grid during this past new episode of the series, and now everyone is left to wonder precisely where we went, what happened to him, and also whether or not he is going to be altogether inclined to show back up. This is a character who has been on the series for a rather-long time and with that, he is always missed anytime that he is good.

Yet, in thinking about what is going on with Jackson, we really are hoping that the show is just gearing up for a big episode for this character, one in which you see what he is up to separate from the hospital and what he is actually looking for. This is a guy who may be going through some more profound stuff than almost anyone else. At the end of season 14, he watched one of the great loves of his life in April marry someone else; meanwhile, he also is exploring his faith, and also is trying to handle still the wait of being an Avery in the midst of all of the allegations that have come out about Harper Avery’s career.
Basically, it makes some sense for this character to take some time away. We just hope that whatever he is doing while separate from the Grey Sloan is something that actually facilitates his story rather than him just partying it up somewhere. We want his experiences to inform him whenever he does become a slightly more permanent part of the story again.
