‘Shiptober 2018: Blue Bloods (Jamie & Eddie) vs. Blindspot (Jane & Weller)

Blue Bloods season 9

It’s a chance to celebrate some of the greatest ‘ships that the TV has to offer, and we’ve got a fun tournament this year to go along with it. Over the course of this month, we’ll be running some ‘Shiptober polls while also discussing what makes some of these couples so great and also sharing some teases / expectations for upcoming episodes! This is a chance to celebrate and discuss great ‘ships while gauging their popularity among readers at the same time. Only one ‘ship will be crowned the victor at the very end!

Voting Rules – Vote however often you like! Only one ‘ship will move on to the next round, and we are keeping these polls open until Friday, October 12 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. The following day, the second round will officially begin. (All of the information needed can be found in the bracket image above.)

In this particular showdown, the focus is on a pair of characters who both are tied to fighting crime — albeit in very different ways. You’ve got Jamie & Eddie of Blue Bloods in one corner, and then Jane & Weller of Blindspot in another.

Jamie & Eddie, Blue Bloods (#4 seed) – It took a long time for the CBS crime procedural to bring the two characters together, likely due to the difficult job they had navigating their personal and professional relationship. Now, though, the two have finally come together and with that, they are able to plan towards a future together. They are supportive of each other and certainly romantic, even if this is a show that tends to be restrained on affection in general. We do anticipate some more of that coming throughout the year, and potentially also a wedding — though there is no particular timeline for that right now.

Jane & Weller, Blindspot (#5 seed) – For Jeller fans, it is fair to say that the relationship is a little bit more complicated. We’re talking here about two characters who have been together and happy, but also been pulled together by some internal / external forces. The past couple of seasons have tested the two of them, but unfortunately for them, the biggest test of all could be coming in season 4 with Jane reverting back to Remi. She’s not going to be on Weller’s side in the way that she once was, so is there going to be a way to keep this relationship healthy? Really, only time is going to tell here.
